A photography exhibition entitled "ASEAN People and Countries” comenced at the Hai Phong Fine Arts Centre on August 7, as part of the celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN (1967-2017).

The exhibition displays 230 works from 10 ASEAN countries, featuring the beauty of the landscapes, different cultures, the people and the exchanges among ASEAN countries.

The photos were selected from among 10,127 submissions , which were taken by 1,248 photographers from the ten ASEAN countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The works display for the visitors a clear insight into the cultural and socioeconomic situation, as well as the exchange activities among ASEAN countries. The exhibition is also expected to strengthen the understanding and alignment of the bloc’s members, contributing to the building of a dynamic and prosperous ASEAN community.

Earlier, the exhibition was displayed at Ly Thai To Statue Square on Hanoi's walking street.

After being displayed in Hanoi and Hai Phong, the photo exhibition will then head to Quang Ninh and Bac Lieu provinces.
