(HBO) - In the past time, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has had many exciting and practical activities, creating a useful playground for the art lovers to unleash their passion and creativity, producing many works of intellectual and arts value.


The Photography Association belonging to the Provincial Literature and Arts Association has organized the exhibitions to introduce the works in order to exchange the professional knowledge and improve the quality of the photographic works.

The Provincial Literature and Arts Association consists of 7 specialized branches, including literature, music, fine arts, photography, dance, theater, folk art and 2 affiliated units. During the last term, the Standing Committee of the Association and the leaders of its branches have promoted their initiative, creativity, high unity, and organized many activities in all fields of literature and arts. The Association's activities have closely followed the local political tasks, the lines and policies of the Party and State. The position of the Association is increasingly enhanced, creating an atmosphere of excitement and solidarity among all the members. The Association has truly become a home to gather the members, encouraging and creating all conditions for the artists and writers to delve into the reality of the social life, demonstrating the civic responsibility, and deserving to be the soldiers on the front lines of the Party’s ideology and culture.

In the activities of composing and researching the folklore and culture, every year, the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts cooperates to organize the training courses to improve the creative writing skills attracting the participation of a large number of members. Along with the training courses, there are the composition camps, the field trips inside and outside the province, creating conditions for the members to learn about the working life and the activities of the people, the natural landscapes, etc. so that the team of artists and writers can adhere to reality, have the opportunity to experience and inspire many quality artworks.

The trips that can be mentioned are the general composition camp in Van Son commune (Tan Lac); the composition for the branch of the fine arts and photography at Hoa Binh lake and Son La; organizing 2 composing field trips on the space of Hoa Binh lake for the music and literature branch, and they have obtained many practical results. Mr. Dinh Thanh Hai, a member of the photography association says: In addition to the trips organized by the group of the artists themselves, the field trips and the composition camps organized by the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts helped us know more about the new lands, gaining more experiences, inspiring new compositions, and this is also an opportunity for the artists to meet, exchange and share experiences in composing.

With a passion for literature and arts, the members of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association have always actively participated in the composition activities and researched the folklore and culture. In the term of 2017 - 2022, the Association has 29 authors who have published 59 titles; nearly 60 turns of members have won hundreds of prizes at the national and local competitions; coordinated to organize 29 creative camps for over 200 turns of artists and writers. They have organized more than 25 exhibitions and shows in the province and the neighboring provinces with over 800 turns of photographic and fine art works… In 2022, there were 75 works in 8 specialties by 51 authors and 11 groups of authors were given the provincial award for literature and arts for the period of 2016 - 2020.

With these achievements, in the last term, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association twice received the certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee, 5 members were awarded the certificates of merit by the People's Committee. The association rewards 16 collectives and 80 individuals for the outstanding achievements in literary and artistic activities every year.

Muong calendar – National intangible cultural heritage

Muong calendar, known as sach doi, is an ancient folk knowledge system developed through observations of the movement of the pleiades star. This unique calendar consists of 12 bamboo sticks, each representing a lunar month. Specific days within each month are marked with distinct symbols, guiding locals in determining auspicious and inauspicious days for important activities.
