(HBO) - Over the past years, the Standing Board of the Tan Lac district Party Committee has directed communication activities to raise awareness of officials and people in the implementation of specific solutions to conserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values of the Muong people, in association with the popularisation of locality’s potentials to attract investment for socio-economic development.

Vu Duc Truong, Director of the Centre for Culture, Sports and
Information of Tan Lac district, said Muong Bi still preserves many tangible
cultural heritages with traditional values such as stilt houses, costumes and
brocade weaving. It also boasts intangible cultural values such as writing, Mo
Muong, Muong gongs, ethnic musical instruments, and Muong folk songs. There are
many famous places in the locality such as Muong Bi Cot Co mountain, Trang
waterfall (Nhan My commune), Nam Son cave (Van Son commune), Thac Bo cave (Suoi
Hoa commune) and But cave (Man Duc township).
Under the direction of the Standing Board of the district Party Committee, the
centre has organised dissemination campaigns to promote cultural values and
activities to revive traditional festivals as well as open classes to teach
Muong and Mo Muong scripts.
The opening ceremony of Khai ha festival of Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh
province in 2023 was livestreamed on local digital platforms. The event
attracted the participation of nearly 600 Muong artists and artisans.
Bui Thi Thuong, head of the district Party Committee’s Commission for
Information and Education, said it has 36 party cells with 6,447 members.
The committee has
directed its affiliates, agencies and units to devise effective popularisation
plans which focus on conservation and promotion of national cultural values,
and promoting Muong Bi cultural images to friends and tourists inside and
outside the province. The operation of the district's YouTube and Facebook
pages has been maintained with over 50,000 subscribers./.
Hoa Binh province has carried out multiple programmes and initiatives to revive its cultural heritage which has gradually fallen into oblivion through the ebbs and flows of history.
The most prominent and defining feature in the prehistoric era of Hoa Binh is the Hoa Binh Culture. The Culture was first discovered in Hoa Binh. The significant prehistoric culture represents not only Vietnam but also Southeast Asia and southern China. Through excavations of cave sites in the limestone regions of Hoa Binh, French archaeologist M. Colani introduced the world to a "Stone Age in Hoa Binh province – Northern Vietnam" in 1927. On January 30, 1932, the First Congress of Far Eastern Prehistorians, held in Hanoi, officially recognised the Hoa Binh Culture.
Known as the "Land of Epic History”, Hoa Binh province, the gateway to Vietnam’s northwest, boasts a strategic location and a unique cultural tapestry woven by its ethnic minority communities.
The People's Committee of Luong Son District recently held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Sau Communal House in Thanh Cao Commune as a provincial-level historical and cultural site.
Recognising the importance of cultural heritage preservation in protecting and promoting the value system of Vietnamese culture, and serving socio-economic development in the new period, Party committees and local administrations in Hoa Binh province have identified it as a key task in the cultural development strategy. The province has been making efforts in mobilising resources, creating consensus among people and engaging ethnic communities in preserving and promoting cultural identity.
