The Department of Cultural Heritage has just coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province to organize a training on implementing the model of the cultural heritage connected in the cultural tourism journey in Cao Phong and Lac Son districts.

The delegates and the trainees at the training class.

The training class equips the trainees with many skills to promote the value of the traditional cultural heritage of the community where they live, such as: identifying, analyzing, selecting and introducing the cultural heritages of which they are themselves the subject. In particular, the most prominent is the photovoice technique - the community tells its own cultural stories...

Participating in the training class, the trainees are equipped with knowledge to identify and select the heritages to introduce. They can practice skills in recording, collecting, editing, and connecting images, sounds and introductions to form stories about the cultural life of Muong ethnic people in Hoa Binh in general and Mo Muong in particular through their own eyes.

The application of the photovoice method helps the community have advantages in proactively and creatively preserving and promoting the cultural heritage; at the same time, it helps creat the opportunities for the heritage subject community to directly participate and benefit from the heritage interpretation and promotion activities associated with inter-provincial and inter-regional tourism development. The model has been deployed and implemented to contribute to protecting the local cultural resources, the intangible cultural heritage of the community and improve the livelihoods by promoting tourism development.

In the context of globalization and the fourth industrial revolution, the application of the photovoice method to interpret, introduce and promote the heritage values associated with tourism development is highly feasible, and it is suitable with the trend of the times.

In fact, the number of the members of Muong community in Hoa Binh who are using smartphones with the function of recording and broadcasting images accounts for over 80%. Many members of Muong ethnic community in Hoa Binh have used the function of recording and replaying recorded images on the social networking sites. However, most of these activities only serve the personal needs. The recorded and replayed images are emotional, spontaneous, and subjective, without a purpose in building the content, and without understanding the techniques of recording and editing images...
