Muong Bi - Tan Lac is renowned as one of the four famous Muong regions in Hoa Binh province. Blessed by nature with a favourable climate and stunning landscapes, Tan Lac holds great advantages for tourism development. The local tourism industry has made remarkable strides in recent times thanks to the attention and support from the local authorities and sectors.

The cultural, sports, and tourism festival 2024 in upland communes in Tan Lac district has attracted a large number of local residents and visitors.

Visiting Tan Lac during this time, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the ancient Nam Son Mandarin gardens and the expansive green valleys of chayote vegetables. They can explore Nam Son cave, admire almost-intact preserved traditional stilt houses of the Muong people; and enjoy ethnic dishes.

Other activities include cloud hunting, marveling at the majestic natural landscapes, and delving into the region's rich cultural heritage with folk tales, folk songs, lullabies, antiphonal singing, Muong gong performances, and Mo Muong rituals.

In the spring, a series of traditional festivals are organised, including the Khai Ha Festival of the Muong ethnic group in Phong Phu commune; and the stream fishing festival in Lo Son commune.

The district also boasts OCOP-certified community tourism destinations, along with a network of restaurants, entertainment spots, tourist attractions, and tours connected with other localities within the province and across the country. This diverse tourism ecosystem has become a significant draw for many visitors.

The district effectively carried out activities in response to the Visit Vietnam Year 2024, boosting local tourism. Notably, it successfully organized the cultural, sports, and tourism festival in highland communes in 2024, featuring a variety of engaging activities such as Muong costume performances, singing contests, folk games, traditional bamboo weaving, and sports competitions, attracting crowds of local people and tourists.

Throughout the year, six tourism training courses were organized with 356 participants; and three awareness-raising workshops on tourism for 100% of households in three selected model community tourism villages. A new community-based tourism site was also established in Quyet Chien commune.
