Tien Pagoda is located in the valley of Lao Noi and Lao Ngoai villages, Phu Nghia commune, Lac Thuy district; it is surrounded by two mountain ranges stretching like two giant dragons reaching for the blue sky. Every year, when spring comes, thousands of Buddhists and tourists from all over the country make a pilgrimage to Tien Pagoda. The relic complex of Tien Pagoda is ranked as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with 21 relic sites of many types: historical and cultural relics, scenic relics, and archaeological relics.

The local people and tourists are excited to watch the unique dragon dance at the Festival of Tien Pagoda.

Tien Pagoda Festival is one of the traditional cultural features of the people of Hoa Binh. The opening ceremony is held on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year every year, attracting a large number of visitors. In the first days of At Ty spring in 2025, more than 5,000 turns of visitors came to the sacred space to perform the worship rituals in the pagoda, inviting Fairies and Buddhas to bless the people. This is also an opportunity to pray for wealth and fortune, hoping for a peaceful and happy new year.

Ms. Bui Thi Vien from Phu Nghia commune shares: At the beginning and end of the year, my family often goes to Tien Pagoda to pray for peace and luck. In addition, I witnessed the palanquin procession with a grand scale of hundreds of people and experienced many unique folk cultural activities such as lion and dragon dance, Muong gong performance, folk games, etc.

In particular, this year's festival, Huong Binh cable car connecting Huong Pagoda and Tien Pagoda with a length of nearly 3km has been put into use. This cable car line not only brings convenience to tourists, but it is also a step forward in tourism development. With the construction of a modern transportation system, it helps Tien and Huong Pagodas, and other tourism areas attract a larger number of international visitors, contributing to the preservation and sustainable development of tourism at the famous cultural and spiritual relic sites.

To ensure security and order during the festival, the functional agencies and the local authorities have implemented many measures to closely coordinate, establishing a security and order subcommittee to protect traffic safety and prevent fires and explosions. In particular, the District’s  and Commune’s Public Security regularly patrol the grassroots, promptly handling sudden and unexpected situations to maintain the order and security in the area. The security camera system has been enhanced to ensure maximum safety.

In addition, ensuring food hygiene and safety has been focused on by the authorities. Before the festival took place, the district's working group inspected the businesses and restaurants, reminded, handled violations and promptly corrected them. The relic management board proactively arranged the trash bins along the roads and at relic sites to maintain public hygiene, contributing to creating a clean and civilized environment for the festival.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, the Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Lac Thuy district, says: The department has coordinated with the authorities to ensure the most favorable conditions for tourists and Buddhists arriving at the festival. In addition, along with putting Huong Binh cable car route into operation, the district focuses on upgrading the transportation system and providing the convenient services to bring the best experience to tourists participating in the festival as well. The district expects that this year's festival attracts many domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to enhancing the value of Tien Pagoda relic site and tourism in Lac Thuy district at the same time.
