With a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, Hoa Binh continues to be a popular destination for domestic and international tourists during the April 30-May 1 holidays.

With a sunflower field and hundreds of eye-catching check-in corners, the Heritage Park of Vietnamese Scientists in Bac Phong commune, Cao Phong district is one of the most attractive destinations in the province. 

 

Trinh Thu Hoa, a tourist from Hanoi, shared that tourists seemed to be lost in the sea of 50,000 brilliant sunflowers.nShe said visitors like her are immersed in the fresh air, exploring the beautiful miniature landscapes, and impressed with the modern, creative cultural space of the museum.

Just about 3 hours travelling by car from Hanoi, visitors embark on a journey to explore Mai Chau Hideaway, known as a resort paradise nestled in the heart of Hoa Binh lake. 

 

Located in Son Thuy commune, Mai Chau district, the destination has majestic natural scenery, and wonderful resort space. It’s suitable for those who seek peace, and absolute relaxation. Rafael Marquez, a Mexican tourist, said that his family chose Mai Chau to spend their holidays because of its nature and the inner peace it brings.

In addition to the bustling activities at eco-tourism and resort areas, community-based tourism destinations in the province, unique indigenous culture attracts visitors a lot. 

 

On this occasion, a culture-tourism week is held at Mo hamlet, Binh Thanh commune, Cao Phong district. The event features cultural exchange programmes, folk game performances, exhibitions, and introductions of local tourism and culinary products.

Bui Bao Chieu, Deputy Director of Mo Hamlet Tourism Cooperative, said that during the April 30 - May 1 holidays, local people were very happy to receive many groups of tourists. The local made careful preparations, enabling tourists to experience Muong cultural values and beautiful nature, and feel the local’s hospitability. 

 

Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the pristine natural landscape and traditional cultural features of the ethnic minority communities are the highlights of Hoa Binh tourism. In addition, businesses, units and localities have actively improved tourism service quality.

The province currently has more than 50 eco-tourism and resort sites, mostly in Luong Son, Mai Chau, Kim Boi, Da Bac districts; and nearly 20 community-based tourism sites, mainly in Mai Chau, Da Bac, Tan Lac, Cao Phong districts.

During the April 30-May 1 holidays, the province welcomed over 300,000 visitors, an increase of 53.8% over the same period last year, with total revenue from tourism activities estimated at 220 billion VND (8.5 million USD), up 60.5% year-on-year.
