The US Cable News Network (CNN) will continue to broadcast 30-second promotional videos on Hanoi in 2018, which aim to provide the audience with an insider’s point of view of Vietnam’s vibrant capital.

The information was released by Sunita Rajan, Vice President and head of Advertising Sales for the Asia Pacific region of CNN.

She said that the videos are expected to broadcast in June 2018, and will focus on introducing Hanoi’s villages and artisans through an arts perspective.

Previously, CNN produced two promotional videos on Hanoi in 2017.

The project is being executed under a cooperation agreement signed in December 2016 between CNN and the Hanoi authorities for the 2017-2018 period, with the aim of advertising the history, rich culture, superb cuisine and daily routines of Hanoians to the world.

According to a CNN survey of viewers who watch the cable channel twice a week or less than twice a week, 62% of CNN viewers had watched the Hanoi tourism campaign, 43% remembered the promotional videos on CNN and 43% remembered the promotional videos on social channels.

In terms of viewership by the age group of adults aged between 18 and 49, CNN network is ranked 17th in the US with an average of 373,000 daily viewers. Outside of the US, CNN is ranked as one of the largest news networks, with its primary viewership in Asia.
