A series of activities, on the theme ‘The love of youth and ethnic people for Vietnam’s sea and islands” are taking place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay town in Hanoi, from March 1 to 31.


Cultural Village’s activities show love for sea and islands

The programme will draw the participation of Tay, Dao, Hmong, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Co Tu, RangLai, E De, and Khmer ethnic communities, who will introduce visitors to their cultural practises, traditional songs and dances, as well as folk games.

The event will also feature the participation of 11 cities and provinces, including Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Ha Giang, Son La, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Thua Thien – Hue, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, and Soc Trang.

Under the event, an exhibition will be held from March 10 to 31, showcasing documents, documentaries, and artifacts on Vietnam’s sea and island.

Visitors will have the chance to meet and talk with veterans, families of fallen soldiers, and journalists, who will share their stories on their love for Vietnam’s sea and islands.

In addition, the AzaKoonh festival of the Ta Oi ethnic group and the Xen Lau No festival of Thai ethnic people will be reproduced for the occasion.

The programme aims to preserve and uphold the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese ethnic communities, enhance the great national unity bloc, while advertising the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism as an attractive tourist destination for visitors from home and abroad.
