(HBO) - In our province, Mai Chau is currently the first and only locality has been planned to become National Tourist Destination in 2020 with a vision to 2030.


Foreign tourists enjoy experiencing the community tourism products in Mai Hich commune (Mai Chau).

Accordingly, Mai Chau district basically meets the conditions for being recognized as a national tourist destination in 2020. With tourist resources being considered as particularly attractive, in the recent two years, Mai Chau district welcomed over 301,000 visitors in 2016 and over 324,500 visitors in 2017. Total revenue from tourism reaches at over 80 billion VND per year. In particularly, in the first three months of this year, the district has attracted over 82,500 visitors with total revenue of 26.7 billion VND.

Currently, there are 146 tourist accommodation establishments in the district with 15 hamlets holding community tourism activities. Tourism infrastructure has improved significantly. Community tourist sites are trying to diversify their activities to attract tourists, such as Lac village (Chieng Chau commune), Van village, Pom Coong commune (Mai Chau town), and Buoc village (Xam Khoe village) , Xa Linh hamlet, Pa Co hamlet (Pa Co commune), Hich hamlet (Mai Hich commune), Xam Pa hamlet (Na Meo commune) ... With the core of community tourism, Mai Chau district tourism is becoming the name that is very attractive to tourists from everywhere.

Mr. Pham Van Hoan, vice chairman of Mai Chau district People's Committee, said that: Particularly, the district will strengthen the management of tourism activities by implementing drastic regulations on management of tourism activities in Mai Chau district. This regulation has been thoroughly discussed by the District People's Committee and grasped in details to each tourist business since the end of 2017. Up to now, the regulation has been popular to the people’s life and created positive effects.

These are the important regulations and implementations expressing the determination of Mai Chau district in raising Mai Chau tourism brand, deserving to become a national tourist destination with good and sustainable values.
