The world legendary golfer Greg Norman from Australia has been appointed as tourism ambassador of Vietnam for the 2018-2021 tenure.

At a ceremony in Hanoi
on October 31, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien
presented the appointment decision to the golfer.
Greg Norman, whose full name is Gregory
John Norman, was born in 1955
in Australia
but now lives in Florida in the United States of America.
Known by the nick name of ‘The Great
White Shark’, Norman
has won over 90 championships in numerous world competitions.
He owns many global companies in
designing golf courses and other fields. His company has designed several golf
courses in Vietnam,
most notably The Bluff Ho Tram Strip in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
As a tourism ambassador, Greg Norman has
set up a concrete action plan, which will enhance the development of
international golf tourism in Vietnam.
At the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Ngoc
Thien emphasised that golf tourism is a relatively new form in Vietnam.
However, with favourable geographic position and diverse natural resources, the
country has great potential for the development of golf tourism.
Golf courses designed by Greg Norman are
expected to contribute to helping Vietnam become a famous destination
for golf tourism, added the Minister.

The Department of Cultural Heritage has just coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province to organize a training on implementing the model of the cultural heritage connected in the cultural tourism journey in Cao Phong and Lac Son districts.
The Sung village in Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, is endowed with pristine natural landscape, and Dao Tien ethnic minority community in the village preserves rich cultural heritage, including traditional housing, clothing, language, scripts, customs, and daily life practices. Since the community-based tourism model was introduced in the locality, these traditional cultural values have been further preserved and promoted.
