(HBO) - After the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, along with other destinations across the province, tourism activities on Hoa Binh Lake have seen recovery, contributing to realizing the "dual goal" of COVID-19 prevention and economic development.
The local authorities have also paid attention to managing tourism activities on
the lake, one of the key tourist routes and destinations in the province.
Tourists
visiting Chua Thac Bo temple strictly abide by COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
Spanning Hoa Binh city
and the districts of Cao Phong, Tan Lac, Da Bac, and Mai Chau, the Hoa Binh Lake
tourist area has become attractive to holiday-makers thanks to its natural
beauty along with community tourism destinations imbued with cultural
identities such as Trach cave and Sung cave, and famous spiritual tourist
destinations like Chua Thac Bo temple and Thac Bo cave.
These tourist attractions provide visitors with new and attractive discoveries
and experiences. The destinations have just
been re-opened to visitors after the time of closure due to the complicated developments
of COVID-19.
Pham Ngoc Nhat, head of the
Division of Culture and Sports of Cao Phong district said Thung Nai port and
Chua Thac Bo temple welcomed visitors from the 4th day of the lunar year. To ensure safety,
especially amid the COVID-19, inspection forces have been on duty around the
clock at Thung Nai port.
Visitors are required to have their temperature checked, wash hands with
sanitizer, fill medical declarations and wear masks before boarding the boat. The
number of people in each group is not more than 20.
In addition, measures to ensure the safety for visitors have been fully
implemented, such as making life jackets available on boat and reminding
tourists to wear them.
At Bich Ha port in Hoa
Binh city’s Hoa Binh commune, the number of tourists has been reported to increase,
especially during weekends.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nga, who
is working at the port, said Bich Ha port regularly receives groups of 40-50 visitors
on Saturday and Sunday. Besides local tourists, Hoa
Binh has also welcomed visitors from other provinces who mainly visit religious
and spiritual tourism sites on Hoa Binh Lake. Amid the ongoing
COVID-19 situation, a disease prevention and control checkpoint is maintained to
instruct visitors to strictly abide by COVID-19 prevention regulations. At Bich Ha and Thung Nai ports, owners of ships and boats have been active in
preventing the pandemic.
Meanwhile, at spiritual
tourism destinations that receive a great number of visitors this time,
including Chua Thac Bo temple and Thac Bo cave, loudspeakers, antiseptic and
free masks are provided free of charge for tourists. Tourists also obey the
regulations of wearing masks and keeping distance in public places.
According
to Vice Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism
Luu Huy Linh, religious and belief activities and tourism sites have been
reopened. Of which those belonging to the Hoa Binh Lake tourism site have drawn
a huge number of tourists.
The department has requested the People's Committees of Hoa Binh city and districts
to direct their divisions of culture and sports and related agencies, and the
People's Committees of communes, wards and townships to strictly deploy COVID-19
prevention measures.
Inspectors of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have
coordinated with authorities of Hoa Binh city and districts to increase inspections
and handle violations in organising festivals and religious activities in
tourist sites as well as sports and entertainment activities at establishments,
and request their owners to comply with relevant legal provisions./.
As the new year begins and festive spirit fills the air, visitors flock to Hoa Binh lake, often dubbed the "Ha Long Bay on land," to enjoy its breathtaking beauty and serene atmosphere. In spring, the lake comes alive with lush greenery and delicate blossoms, while boats carrying eager tourists glide across its tranquil waters.
With effective business operations, significant increases in the number of visitors at weekends and on public holidays, and being listed among the 71 most beautiful places to visit worldwide by the prestigious US travel magazine Condé Nast Traveller, Hoa Binh’s tourism is "spreading its wings" on its journey towards the targets of welcoming 4.9 million visitors, including 1 million foreigners, and achieving total tourism revenue of 5.4 trillion VND (211.89 million USD) in 2025.
On February 21, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to implement the tourism plan in 2025 and meet with tourism businesses operating in the province. The event was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Head of the Provincial Tourism Steering Committee.
