Studies show that mineral springs in Kim Boi date back around 250 million years ago and their water has been certified as safe for drinking and bathing. The water is believed to be effective for lightening skin tone and treating skin problems.
The district is accelerating its efforts to take advantage of local mineral springs to boost green tourism and develop leisure and healthcare tours. According to data from the district’s People’s Committee, there are over 20 related projects in Kim Boi but they have yet to make breakthroughs for the local tourism sector.
Kim Boi is drastically seeking more investment to make tourism a key industry, and all eyes are on the Muong Dong region. Many investors are surveying the region for high-quality tourism projects, said Secretary of the district’s Party Committee Nguyen Hoang Thu. The 6,000-ha Bo Township expansion project and a road construction project with a total length of 6.9km are expected to pave the way for more investment to be poured into the district. The two projects have a combined investment of about 200 billion VND.
Currently, Vingroup, Sun Group and many other corporations are planning to invest in urban development and ecotourism in Kim Boi. Over 30 major tourism projects are about to begin in the region, mostly in Binh Son, Vinh Tien and Dong Bac; Vinh Dong and Bo Township; Sao Bay, My Hoa and Cuoi Ha.
To create a momentum for tourism in Muong Dong to take off, the province is coordinating with competent agencies to speed up the construction of a 32km-long and 27m-wide road connecting Hoa Lac and the district’s center, which will cut travel time from Hanoi to Kim Boi to just one hour.
Works on other key infrastructure projects are also about to start, creating a driving force for the district to develop further./.
