(HBO) - Under the direction of the district's Party Committee, Cao Phong district will continue to follow the orientation of developing tourism into an important economic sector matching the local potential in the 2020 – 2025 period.
Specifically, the district aims to welcome 455,000 tourists and earn about 367 billion VND in revenue from tourism activities by 2025. The tourism – service sector will post an average growth rate of at least 15 percent, bringing its proportion in the local economy to 30 percent by 2025.
To accomplish the set goals for tourism development, all-level Party committees, authorities and people in the district will continue to implement Resolution No.04-NQ/HU, dated November 15, 2017 of the 27th district Party Congress on tourism development in the 2017 – 2020 period, with a vision to 2030.
Accordingly, attention will be paid to mobilising capital sources for tourism infrastructure, enhancing tourism promotion, adopting preferential policies to attract investment in tourism and focusing on developing tourism types that the district has advantages.
Statistics showed that the district welcomed about 1.61 million visitors in the 2016-2020 period and total revenue from tourism was estimated at over 140 billion VND (6.1 million USD)./.
Hoa Binh province’s rich natural and cultural resources position it as a prime location for developing community-based tourism (CBT). In recent years, support from central and provincial policies, as well as assistance from non-governmental organisations, have encouraged local ethnic minority and mountainous communities to actively engage in the sector.

The Department of Cultural Heritage has just coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province to organize a training on implementing the model of the cultural heritage connected in the cultural tourism journey in Cao Phong and Lac Son districts.
The Sung village in Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, is endowed with pristine natural landscape, and Dao Tien ethnic minority community in the village preserves rich cultural heritage, including traditional housing, clothing, language, scripts, customs, and daily life practices. Since the community-based tourism model was introduced in the locality, these traditional cultural values have been further preserved and promoted.
