Chau Ecolodge in Na Phon commune, Mai Chau district meets requirements on
welcoming visitors in safe condition while offering many incentives to promote
tourism.
Homestays in Lac village, Chieng Chau commune and Pom Coong village, Mai Chau
township take advantage of this time when there are not too many tourists to
upgrade the accommodations. Some households involved in providing homestay
service in Pom Coong village prioritise expanding facilities and renovating
equipment to better meet the needs of tourists in the near future. In October,
not only local tourists, many from other provinces have contacted and wished to
stay at community tourism sites.
According to Vi Thi Mai, the owner of homestay No 6 in Lac village, households
in the village began to receive guests but were still cautious and mainly at
the weekend.
Mai Chau Ecolodge eco-resort in Na Phon commune is a must-visit destination for
any tourist who wants to explore new land and new culture. The scenery of the
valley in the ripe rice season is the highlight that makes visitors want to
return to this resort many times.
Bui Thi Luyen, manager of Mai Chau Ecolodge, said currently the resort mainly
welcomes Vietnamese, foreigners who are working and residing in Vietnam.
Most of them come here to relax and enjoy luxurious accommodation services
after a long time of the pandemic. The resort has 43 rooms and accommodates up
to 80-90 people but this time, the room capacity usually ranges from 20 to 30
percent. After resuming operation, it attaches great importance to implementing
the "5K" message for both staff and guests. The resort is offering a
tourism stimulus programme, namely reducing room charges for guests every day
and every week, considering it the most practical solution to support
customers.
In the first nine months of this year, the number of visitors to the district
decreased sharply with over 307,000 visitors. The total revenue from tourism
reached about 255 billion VND (11.2 billion USD).
Nguyen Van Lam, Chairman of the district People's Committee, emphasized that
the new normal is an opportunity to restore tourism - an important local
economic sector of the locality.
With the view of promoting economic development while ensuring COVID-19
pandemic and control, the district has requested tourist accommodation
providers to only welcome guests when COVID-19 measures are in place.
They are asked to adopt good hygiene at accommodation facilities, tourist
attractions, restaurants serving tourists, and strictly control visitors from
pandemic-hit areas, Lam said.
Agencies will strengthen inspections of the implementation of preventive
measures in the field of cultural activities, sports and tourism. Organisations
and individuals involved in providing accommodation services are encouraged to
promote tourism by reducing the price of services while assuring its quality.
The dissemination of tourism promotion and pandemic prevention to ensure safety
for tourists coming to the district will also be enhanced at the same time, he
said./.
