(HBO) - On February 22nd, the Provincial Steering Committee of Tourism held a conference to deploy tourism development in 2022. Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Head of the Steering Committee chaired the conference.

In 2021, the Provincial Steering Committee of Tourism has directed the member branches and the localities to organize the adaptive and flexible implementation of the tourism development plan and achieved the following results: Implementing the plans and schemes for timely tourism development; the propaganda and promotion have been paid attention to, giving priority to the national tourism area within Hoa Binh lake; the technical infrastructure in service of tourism has continued to be invested; Carrying out survey programs, organizing the farmtrip groups to experience tourism products in the tourism area within Hoa Binh lake, Muong Dong cultural tourism (Kim Boi), attracting many domestic businesses and travel agencies. The whole province has welcomed over 1.4 million turns of visitors, reaching 43% of the plan, the total revenue from tourism has been 1,513 billion VND, reaching 52.2% of the plan. In spite of not meeting the targets and plans, our province is one of the few localities in the North with a fairly stable number of tourists, and the tourism activities have not been stopped for too long due to the impact of the epidemics.

According to the tourism development plan in 2022, the province focuses on restoring tourism activities, trying to welcome 2.5 million turns of visitors, including 50,000 turns of international visitors with the total revenue of over 2,400 billion VND.

At the conference, the delegates discussed and contributed ideas to the provincial tourism development plan. In conclusion speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism actively advise the province in implementing resolutions and projects for the tourism development. The member branches should concretize the programs, paying special attention to propaganda, promotion and information provision on the province's smart tourism portal. The districts and the city will strengthen the inspection and require the ongoing tourism projects to speed up progress.
