(HBO) - In order to strongly recover the tourism economy under the new normal conditions, Mai Chau district has been implementing the motto of easing but not loosening, and at the same time they have been flexible in controlling the pandemics.

 

Lac village in Chieng Chau commune (Mai Chau) has been open to welcome domestic and international guests after Covid-19 pandemics has been under control.

 Covid-19 pandemics broke out in mid-February, making the community tourism site of Lac village in Chieng Chau commune in a state of almost blockade for 2 weeks. With the speed of the community spread, most of the households in the village had to temporarily stop welcoming guests. Mr. Ha Cong Hong, the head of the village, said: The epidemic development has been stabilized in time so that the households can prepare the physical facilities and the human resources to welcome tourists back when tourism simultaneously opens to welcome international visitors. The tendency of the visitors is mainly to experience safety in small groups, families, and friends. Recently, there have been a number of foreign groups of tourrists experiencing and stayimg there. The village has also paid more attention to the epidemics control, especially the disinfection measures, and the limit contact with the delegations and groups. They have been maximizing the wearing of masks, making the medical declarations, which helps capture the risk of infection in order to handle it neatly and thoroughly. 

Currently, all the tourism areas and attractions of the district including Hang Kia, Pa Co, Pom Coong, Van village in Mai Chau town, Buoc village in Xam Khoe commune, Hich 2 village in Mai Hich commune, Mai Chau Ecolodge resort, Mai Chau Hideaway resort, Ba Khan Village Resort, Avana Retreat... have been focusing on restoring operations. Many destinations have welcomed international visitors. Mr. Dang Van Thanh, the Deputy General Director, the manager of Mai Chau Hideaway eco-resort said: Since the opening of tourism, the international guests and the foreigners living and working in Vietnam have trusted in choosing holidays at Mai Chau Hideaway. In addition to the advantage of an isolated destination, blending in with nature, connecting with many diverse attractions, the resort has implemented a tourism stimulus program, has built new, suitable and competitive products. They have fully been implementing the measures for preventing and controlling Covid-19 pandemics to ensure the safety fỏ the visitors and the staff.

According to Mr. Pham Van Hoan, the Vice Chairman of the District’s People's Committee, as an important local economic sector, tourism activities have been recovering positively in the new normal contexxt. In 2022, the district tried to welcome 490,000 turns of visitors and tourists, including 20,000 turns of international visitors, getting 560 billion VND from tourism. In phase 1 of the roadmap of tourism recovery, the activities welcoming and serving the guests associated with safe procedures of controlling Covid-19 epidemics, which are organized according to the gulations of the epidemic level. At the same time, the establishments and businesses have been well prepared in terms of resources, conditions and plans to welcome international guests. In the next phase, the district is expected to restore all tourism activities and products, regardless of type and scale in terms of the safe adaptation to Covid-19 epidemics, focusing on key tourism markets. 

Since the middle of February, the province has recorded about 200 new cases of Covid-19 every day on average. According to the assessment of the epidemic level, there are 2 communes, Thanh Son and Na Phon, are the green zones,the rest ones are orange zones.. The district has administered the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, reaching 97.8%, the second dose with 95.3%, and the third dose with 28% for the citizens over 18 years old. The 1sst dose for the age of 12 - 17 years old was 99.6%, and the 2nd dose was 99.5%. they have been implementing the flexible and adaptive measures to well control Covid-19 epidemics. The district's tourism areas and attractions are determined to be open but it must be safe, and at the same time it is necessary to offer the types and the products suitable for the new situation. Accordingly, the products of community tourism and eco-resort are popular. The businesses and establishments operating in the field of tourism have actively captures to meet the needs of tourists on short tours, the service quality is good, and there are many experiences in the same destination, the form of experience is safe, responsible and sustainable. In the first quarter of 2022, the district welcomed 87,770 turns of visitors, including 86,331 turns of domestic tourists and 1,439 turns of international visitors. The total revenue from tourism is estimated at over 100 billion VND.
