(HBO) – Owning unique Muong culture and numerous untouched landscapes, Lac Son has high potential for tourism development. The district has issued a resolution that aims to make tourism a spearhead sector with strong trademark.



Khoi community house in An Nghia commune (Lac Son district) has been invested to preserve local cultural values and boost tourism activities.

Lac Son is an ideal place for adventure tourism, especially in mountainous areas such as Mien Doi, Quy Hoa, Ngoc Lau, Ngoc Son and Tu Do. The 600-hecrare Canh Tang lake on the mountain and Quy Hoa mineral water sources also make up the locality’s advantages in tourism development.

Along with natural resources, Lac Son is also rich in historical and cultural values with over 91 percent of population coming from the Muong ethnic minority group, along with a unique culinary culture.

Bui Van Khia, Deputy Secretary of the district Party Committee, said that in order to optimise its tourism advantages, the district will roll out a number of measures, including making surveys in potential areas, designing tourism planning, and calling for more investment in the field.

It will build a Muong culture space and preserve a number of Muong hamlets, while restoring and upgrading historical and cultural heritage sites, supporting the development of community-based tourism activities and creating favourable conditions for the development of high-tech agriculture and expansion of forest.

For 2025, the district aims to exploit some tourism sites such as Doi Thung in Quy Hoa commune, Mu waterfall in Tu Do commune, Bui area in Ngoc Lau commune, and Muong cultural space in Yen Phu commune. In 2030, tourism sites in Canh Tang lake is expected to open to tourists, while complete tours, community-based tourism and farm tours will be developed.
