Besides, the province has the beautiful natural landscapes such as Hoa Binh lake, Kim Boi hot mineral spring, Doi Thung in Quy Hoa commune (Lac Son)... The community tourism villages in Mai Chau and Da Bac districts are the great potential for developing the diferent types of eco-tourism, culture and community tourism. Over the past time, the province has had many specific initiatives to attract investment and exploit that advantage to develop green, sustainable and safe tourism.

For a long time, the tourism image of the province has left a mark in the hearts of tourists. In the province, there are the lake bed of Hoa Binh hydroelectric power station with a wild and charming landscape, many cultural villages of Muong, Dao and Tay ethnic groups; the beautiful land of Mai Chau has been voted as 1 of the 10 interesting destinations of the world; Many highland communes in Lac Son, Tan Lac have a cool and green climate all year round, and they are near the primeval forests, creating an attraction for investors and tourists. The province has issued the thematic resolutions and projects to develop tourism into an important economic sector. According to the evaluation report on the implementation of Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU, dated on December 30, 2016 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on tourism development of the province to 2020 with the vision to 2030, the tourism in Hoa Binh is gradually achieving the basic criteria to become an important economic sector of the province. The number of tourists and the total revenue from tourism of the province have a good average growth rate, reaching over 10% per year, it only decreased in 2020 due to the impact of Covid-19 pandemics. 

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee issued the Conclusion No. 37-KL/TU, dated on January 29, 2021, preliminarily reviewing the 5 years of implementation of the Resolution No. 10-NQ/TU, dated on December 30, 2016 of the Provincial Party Committee on the provincial tourism development to 2020 with a vision to 2030, setting the goal of "Maximizing advantages to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, making Hoa Binh into an attractive destination with the typical tourism products, a major tourism center of the northern midland and mountainous region”. In order to continue developing tourism to achieve the following goals: In the period of 2021-2025, it is necessary to attract investment of over VND 6.3 trillion, investing in building infrastructure, the tourism material and technical facilities, and developing high-quality tourism products, the accommodation facilities reach over 6,000 rooms. By 2025, it will reach 4.9 million turns of visitors, of which, there are 1 million turns of international visitors; the total revenue from tourism is about 5.4 trillion VND; creating jobs for about 26 thousand employees, with nearly 9,000 direct employees having professional skills in tourism; building the tourism site with Hoa Binh Lake area to basically meet the conditions of the national tourism area by 2025. In 2022, the province aims to welcome 3.76 million turns of visitors, including 660 thousand turns of international visitors; the total revenue from tourism is about 3,400 billion VND. In the period 2026 -2030, it will attract over 11.9 trillion VND in investment, improving the quality of the province's tourism products and brands; developing many typical products; the tourism site within Hoa Binh lake area will become a national tourism area; Tourism will become a key economic sector of the province. 

The province identifies to develop tourism in a sustainable way associating with conserving and promoting the ethnic cultural identities; diversifying the tourism products associating with promoting the local culture, potentials and advantages and building the new countryside. The product of resort tourism - medical treatment - health care will develop; focusing on developing the cultural tourism, the sports tourism, the seminar, the community tourism services, the night economy. It is suggested focusing on exploiting the market of Hanoi Capital area in parallel with expanding the domestic and international markets. The cooperation in tourism development with other provinces will be promoted, especially the cooperation with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and foreign countries to expand markets to attract tourists and promote tourism development. 

The Provincial Party Committee is carrying out many activities to attract investment, promoting, linking cooperation, connecting markets, building tourism products, training to improve the quality of human resources for tourism, towards the goal of effectively exploiting the potential for developing various forms of eco-tourism, urban, resort... At the same time, it is important to direct the implementation of the key projects and works to attract investment and support the large investment projects so that they can soon start building, focusing on the high-quality urban, ecological and tourism fields on the basis of exploiting the potential and advantages of the natural landscape, the environment and culture, which concentrat in a number of key areas such as: Kim Boi, Lac Son, the area of Hoa Binh lake...
