The area of Da Trang Pass in Phu Cuong commune (Tan Lac) with the cool climate and the majestic natural landscape.

The first impression when stopping at Mr. Dinh Cong In's stall from Tam Bat village is the enthusiasm, the sincerity and the hospitality. During the peak tourism season in June, Mr. In and his family members are busy from 4 a.m. to prepare ingredients for the dishes such as the grilled skewers, the grilled corn, the boiled eggs... to serve toutists. Everyone who stops at Da Trang Pass is delighted by the year-round rocky landscape covered with snow-like white. Zooming out from the eye at this location, you can also see the vast rice fields and peaceful and rustic villages. This is also the ideal road for the adventurous travelers because of the steep and winding passes.

Mr. In says: "When Covid-19 epidemics subsided, the number of visitors increased during summer, especially on weekends. Previously, the farrming gave low income and it was was very hard, while doing tourism gives about 3 - 5 million dongs a week, even we can collect up to 7 million dongs in the peak week.. We have opened a stopover stall at Da Trang Pass since 2015, we have had a stable income, so that we built the solid, spacious and clean house.”

Mr. Vu Hoang, a tourist from Hanoi says: "After researching on the internet, the route from Hanoi to Moc Chau (Son La) with a stop at Da Trang Pass, which is very interesting. That's why my family has chosen this as a stopover to rest on both the departure and return trips. Although the summer weather is quite hot, this area has a cool, windy atmosphere. Ang we remember to save the memorable photos during the meaningful summer vacation”.

Taking the advantage of the National Highway 6 with over 10 km running through the area, more than 100 households in the commune have developed the service businesses and built the stops in the area of Da Trang pass to serve tourists. Currently, there are a number of households doing business in community tourism services in order to preserve the national cultural identity and promote the image and the daily life of the Muong ethnic people to the friends from all over the world.

The problem for the locality today in promoting the development of tourism to become a spearhead economic sector is that it has not fully exploited its potential and advantages. The service business households are in the small scale; they have have not linked to build tours and routes to retain tourists. The promotion and introduction of tourism is still limited.

Mr. Bui Duc Phuong, the Chairman of Phu Cuong Communal People's Committee says: "The Party committee and the government are focusing on building the resolutions and the projects on tourism development in the commune. They continue propagating and mobilizing the people to boldly explore and learn how to do tourism effectively. We wish that the State create the favorable conditions for the people to participate in training courses and improve their skills in tourism. It is necessary to coordinate with the functional sectors to well perform inspection, propaganda and remind the business households in the area of Da Trang pass to comply with and abide by the regulations on ensuring the traffic safety corridors The linkages with businesses should be created to build tourism products imbued with the national cultural identity. Thereby, it has been contributing to raising the incomes, improving people's quality of life, contributing to local socio-economic development”.
