(HBO) – Da Bia village (now Duc Phong village) in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, used to be a small and isolated village, which visitors could only access by small boats. But things have become quite different since the village began to develop tourism and has gradually become an attractive destination.
In 2019, Da Bia community tourism area was honored to receive the ASEAN Award for community tourism. Thereby, the quality, the professionalism and the attractiveness of the local tourism service have been affirmed, and at the same time, it helps to promote and introduce the local images, the people and the culture to domestic and international friends.
Da Bia village in Tien Phong commune, Da Bac district, has gradually become a tourist hotspot, attracting many visitors coming to the locality.
Bui Van Luyen, Secretary of the Da Bac District Party Committee, said the district is determined to boost tourism, attract investment in order to turn the sector into an economic spearhead, helping to create more jobs and improve living standards of the locals.
To optimise the locality’s potential and strengths, the district has issued and implemented several tourism promotion programmes with a vision to 2023. The locality has also established a Steering Committee for Tourism Development to act as a bridge to investors and introduced new tourism products.
Currently, several high-end eco-tourism products have been launched in the district, such as Da Bac Ecolodge in Da Bac, Xoan Retreat in Hien Luong commune, and Ho Tam homestay in Cao Son commune.
In addition, there are four investment projects in the field of ecotourism and high-end resort with a total registered capital of about 630 billion VND (2.7 million USD).
In the coming time, the province will focus on implementing the orientation of building, preserving and promoting values of existing community tourism facilities while promoting new products, encouraging greater participation of the locals in developing tourism activities in the locality in order to realise the goal of attracting 550,000 tourists with total revenue from tourism activities reaching over 297 billion VND (about 12.6 million USD) by 2025./.
Hoa Binh province’s rich natural and cultural resources position it as a prime location for developing community-based tourism (CBT). In recent years, support from central and provincial policies, as well as assistance from non-governmental organisations, have encouraged local ethnic minority and mountainous communities to actively engage in the sector.
Van Son Commune, Tan Lạc district, Hoa Binh province also known as "Cloud Valley," boasts a cool climate, stunning natural landscapes, and majestic scenery. Thanks to the effective exploitation of natural landscape and the cultural diversity of ethnic minorities, Hoa Binh province has become an attractive destination for tourists seeking experiences and exploration.
The Department of Cultural Heritage has just coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province to organize a training on implementing the model of the cultural heritage connected in the cultural tourism journey in Cao Phong and Lac Son districts.
The Sung village in Cao Son commune, Da Bac district, is endowed with pristine natural landscape, and Dao Tien ethnic minority community in the village preserves rich cultural heritage, including traditional housing, clothing, language, scripts, customs, and daily life practices. Since the community-based tourism model was introduced in the locality, these traditional cultural values have been further preserved and promoted.
