(HBO) - Having a beautiful natural landscape with the imprinted cultural identity, the high determination of the Party Committee, the government, the consensus of the people making tourism an important economic sector, Lac Son district has been making efforts to create an open "airway” for tourism to take off.



Tourists are experience and relaxing in the green steppe of Bai Bui, Ngoc Lau commune (Lac Son).

Carrying out the task of advising, proposing, and implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/HU of the District’s Party Committee on tourism development of Lac Son district in the period of 2022 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, Mr. Nguyen The Hung, the Head of Culture and Information Department of Lac Son district says: In order to gradually become a bright spot on the tourism map of the province as well as build a beautiful image of Muong Vang land and people, the district has gradually been implementing the viewpoints and development goals with the specific solutions. Accordingly, the maximum resources have been mobilized to promote and create growth momentum for the tourism development.


Along with preserving and promoting the cultural heritages, the propaganda, promotion and investment attraction are synchronously carried out. In 2021, the district participated in displaying the products in the Week of Hoa Binh Culture and Tourism in Hanoi; coordinating with Vietnam Television Station, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) and Vietnam Academy of Music to collect the national cultural identities and build them into films and video clips to promote tourism; coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Tan Lap commune, the Travel Association of Hanoi Tourism Association to organize a survey and tourism promotion program at Trai cave, Tan Lap commune.

In 2022, the district coordinated with the provincial press agencies to introduce the scenic spots, historical and cultural relics in the area; participating in the provincial exhibition booths at the highland fair; coordinating with the departments and channels of Vietnam Television to implement the reportage "The custom of celebrating the New Year of the Muong people on August 19 in Lac Son, Hoa Binh province”; building a reportage to preserve and promote the values of the national cultural identity in the district, the reportage "Muong mandarins committed to the revolution”; recording the reportage "Celebrating independent Tet with Muong ethnic people in Hoa Binh”. They paid a visit to the typical archaeological relics at Trai hamlet, Tan Lap commune and the stone roof relic in Vanh village on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of establishing and researching the "Culture of Hoa Binh”. Since the beginning of the year, the district has propagated and promoted the land and people of Muong Vang by the specific activities including participating in the exhibition booths to introduce and promote cultural product and agricultural OCOP products, singing contests of Thuong Rang & Bo Meng (the ethnic singing), performing Muong gongs and other ethnic musical instruments, sports competition at Khai Ha festival of Muong ethnic group in Hoa Binh province in 2023. Documenting and digitizing the festival of Khenh communal house in Van Son commune in order to promote tourism and document the festival so that it can be upgraded to a national festival. A video clip has been developed to promote the scenic of Mu waterfall in Tu Do commune and other scenic spots in the district.

The development of mechanisms and policies to promote investment attraction for tourism development has been paid attention to. A number of investors have researched and implemented the project so far. Typically, Sun Group is implementing a project of a high-class ecological urban area, resort and entertainment on Thung hill in Quy Hoa commune; the project of the ecological urban area, high-class hot mineral resort in Kha lake, Bui beach – the green steppe in Ngoc Lau commune; the terraced fields in Mien Doi commune; the project of golf course in Dinh Cu commune; Mu waterfall in Tu Do commune.

Since 2020, the district has implemented the plan for the new construction and upgrading a number of traffic routes to the areas, the tourism attractions and scenic spots. They have been creating conditions for the businesses to invest in infrastructure for tourism development. Currently, there are 2  hotels being starred, 17 community guesthouses and 24 accommodation establishments in the area. Some tourism areas and attractions have been invested with the spacious infrastructure to attract tourists such as the scenic of Mu waterfall, the relics of Coi communal house, Khoi communal house, Khenh communal house, Cay Si temple, Tay Tien 52nd Regiment. The post and telecommunications system, broadcasting stations of the network operators have covered the relics as well as the tourism areas and attractions in the area to ensure convenience for communication and information search.

In 2022, the district attracted over 50,100 turns of tourists, including 102 turns of international visitors. In the first quarter of 2023, the district welcomed over 37,600 turns of visitors. Those are the good signs showing that Muong Vang tourism is on the way to take off.
