According to the Hoa Binh provincial Department of Planning and Investment, in Hoa Binh Lake tourist area, there are currently 16 licensed or certified service, cultural and tourism investment projects with a land use area of about 1,444 hectares, and a total capital of over 3.3 trillion VND (133.5 million USD). In addition to investment attraction, the province is speeding up the implementation of projects so as to realise a goal of developing Hoa Binh Lake tourist area into a national one.

Binh Thanh ecological resort project invested by Mora Group joint Stock Company in Trang hamlet, Binh Thanh commune (Cao Phong), has a total investment capital of over 182.44 billion VND with an area of more than 12.9 hectares. To date, the company has finished site clearance, converted forest use purposes and planted a replacement forest, and changed land use purposes and leased land for the first phase. It has also completed construction licensing procedures and is preparing for construction.

Another project in the area that is also facing obstacles is the Hoa Binh Lake Ecotourism and Resort Project in Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac) of Lac Hong Investment joint Stock Company, with a total investment of nearly 799.3 billion VND, and a land area of nearly 150.8 hectares. Vu Minh Hieu, Deputy Director of the company, said that currently, about 10.86 hectares cannot be converted because households do not cooperate and demand very high transfer prices compared to the general level in the area, so the site clearance has not been completed.

The Ngoi Hoa ecotourism site project invested by Hoang Son joint-Stock Investment Power Construction Trade Company also encountered similar problems related to site clearance. The project is carried out in Suoi Hoa commune with a total investment of 650 billion VND and a land area of over 146 hectares. At present, there are still 32 households that have not yet agreed to clear land with an area of over 9.5 hectares.

The steering board for the implementation of the project to develop Hoa Binh Lake tourist area into a national-level one has just inspected the investment of projects in the area. The "bottlenecks" in implementing these projects were promptly solved by the working group. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, said that the province focuses on leading and directing to solve difficult problems and obstacles in attracting investment in tourism in general and developing Hoa Binh Lake tourism in particular. Accordingly, localities where projects are implemented have coordinated with investors to help remove "bottlenecks" in site clearance, while relevant departments and sectors have provided maximum support in terms of procedures for projects to ensure progress.
