(HBO) – In 2017, Mai Chau District kept implementing the action program No.06 of the District Deputy Committee about the implementation of Resolution No. 06 – NQ/TU on 30th August, 2016 of the provincial Deputy Committee about making Mai Chau District become a national tourist destination in 2020 with a vision to 2030.

Mai Chau
District has strengthened propaganda, advertisement and introduction of the
images, cultural identity of the ethnic minority on the mass media. Up to now,
in the whole district, there are 146 tourist accommodation establishments,
increasing 27 establishments compared to the same time of 2016. In this year,
Mai Chau has greeted 324,536 tourists, which is equal to 107, 64% compared to
the same time of 2016. In particular, there are 225,222 national tourists and
99,314 international tourists with the total estimated revenue of more than 84
billion dongs, equaling 112% compared to the same time of 2016.
A diverse chain of eco-tourism and resort destinations concentrated in Hoa Binh city and the districts of Tan Lac, Da Bac, and Luong Son… Along with the launch of several key high-quality resort tourism projects, these developments have reshaped the landscape and enhanced the appeal of Hoa Binh as a travel destination.

Until now, Sung village in Cao Son commune, Da Bac district remains the only Dao ethnic community in Hoa Binh province to develop a community-based tourism model. Beyond its untouched natural landscapes, cultural identity serves as the cornerstone attraction for visitors.
Alongside the diverse cultural identities of the Kinh, Muong, Tay, Thai, Dao, and Mong ethnic people, Hoa Binh province is also renowned as the "capital" of the northwestern Vietnamese cuisine, offering unique and distinctive dishes. At festivals, during Lunar New Year (Tet), or on significant family or community occasions, special dishes are prepared, leaving a lasting impression on visitors.
