(HBO) - From 3rd to 5th January, the People's Committee of Pa Co commune organizes Gau Tao festival to celebrate the Party, the Year of the Rat in 2020. Gau Tao festival of Mong ethnic people in Mai Chau district is a traditional folk festival as well as a cultural and religious activity that have existed for a long time. The festival has been restored since 2017. In the joyful and bustling atmosphere of the days which are close to the Lunar New Year, Mong ethnic people in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes have all gathered at the Stadium of Sports & Culture in Xa Linh hamlet, Pa Co commune to participate in the special activities of the festival.

A lot of items are sold at food stalls such as Day cakes, plum vegetables, passion fruits, radishes ... and Thang Co (a kind of dish from the horse’s viscera - the indispensable dish in the upland fair.



 

The local people and tourists are eager to participate in the stages to make an important dish of the New Year of Mong ethnic people - Day cakes.



At the end of the ceremony, people are spreading out to visit the food stalls and participating in the special folk games.
