(HBO) - From 3rd to 5th January, the People's Committee of Pa Co
commune organizes Gau Tao festival to celebrate the Party, the Year of the Rat
in 2020. Gau Tao festival of Mong ethnic people in Mai Chau district is a
traditional folk festival as well as a cultural and religious activity that
have existed for a long time. The festival has been restored since 2017. In the
joyful and bustling atmosphere of the days which are close to the Lunar New
Year, Mong ethnic people in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes have all gathered at
the Stadium of Sports & Culture in Xa Linh hamlet, Pa Co commune to
participate in the special activities of the festival.

The performing arts

festival.

A lot of items are
sold at food stalls such as Day cakes, plum vegetables, passion fruits,
radishes ... and Thang Co (a kind of dish from the horse’s viscera - the
indispensable dish in the upland fair.
The local people and
tourists are eager to participate in the stages to make an important dish of
the New Year of Mong ethnic people - Day cakes.
At the end of the
ceremony, people are spreading out to visit the food stalls and participating
in the special folk games.
With skillful and meticulous craftsmanship, H’Mong women in Pa Co Commune, Mai Chau district carefully carry out dozens of manual steps to weave skirts, bags, scarves… with vibrant colors. They continue to preserve the traditional brocade weaving, transforming these products into tourism goods while also promoting the H’Mong people's unique cultural beauty.
The image of players wearing "shorts and numbered shirts” is very familiar at the football tournaments. At Khai Ha festival in Khang Vat hamlet, Thuong Coc commune, Lac Son district, the fans, tourists and people witnessed a unique image when the Organizing Committee issued a regulation: the female participants must wear Muong skirts.

The streets of Hoa Binh city have been adorned with banners, slogans, flags, and flowers to mark the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – 2025), celebrating the hometown's progress and renewal.
