Hoa Binh province hosted the "Meet India 2024" conference on November 16, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic ties between Vietnam and India.

Highlighting local strengths, potential, and socio-economic development, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Bui Van Khanh said that the province prioritises investments in the areas of high-quality supporting industry, production and processing of agro-forestry-aquatic goods, and the development of resort tourism and urban areas.

The local administration always rolls out red carpet for investors and will create favourable conditions for them to successfully carry out their projects and ensure sustainable development, he stressed.

Affirming the time-honoured ties between the two countries, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Sandeep Arya expressed his hope that the bilateral collaboration will become more dynamic in the coming time on the back of various economic trade pacts with commitments to enhancing comprehensive cooperation across politics, economy-trade, culture, education-training, and science – technology.

He described Hoa Binh as a promising locality for investment, pointing out several promising areas for cooperation such as high-tech agriculture, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and tourism. He also suggested the two sides expand collaboration to finance, infrastructure, electrification, thermal and hydroelectric power plants, and renewable energy technologies.

The event not only created an opportunity for the two sides to step up investment promotion and foster diplomatic ties and multifaceted cooperation but also affirmed Hoa Binh’s resolve to overcome challenges and capitalise on opportunities to fulfill its goal of reaching the nation’s average economic development for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Earlier, the delegation of the Indian Embassy, organisations, and businesses visited the Yen Quang industrial park and the Tien Tien Industrial Cluster in Hoa Binh city, and Giang Mo hamlet in Cao Phong district.
