According to the provincial branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), in January 2025, the entire branch disbursed loans under 11 key policy credit programs. The loan disbursement amounted to 204.1 billion VND, benefiting 3,369 poor households and other policy beneficiaries. Among this, over 16 billion VND was disbursed to the poor households, more than 17 billion VND to near-poor households, and over 14.6 billion VND to households that have recently escaped poverty. The program with the highest disbursement was the employment solution program, with nearly 29 billion VND loaned to 1,271 customers.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 3,300 poor households and other policy beneficiaries in the province have accessed preferential loans. The photo was taken in Tu Ne commune (Tan Lac).
By the end of January 2025, the total outstanding balance of policy credit in the province reached 5,415.5 billion VND, with 130,787 customers still having outstanding loans. Since the beginning of the year, through policy credit loans, 1,212 employees have been provided with employment, 655 clean water projects, and 552 household-scale sanitation projects have been built. These efforts have played a significant role in ensuring the social security in the province.

From just 16 certified products in its inaugural year to 158 by early 2025, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme in Hoa Binh province has followed a steady and strategic path. But beyond the numbers, it has reawakened local heritage, turning oranges, bamboo shoots, brocade, and herbal remedies into branded, market-ready goods - and, more profoundly, transformed how local communities value and present their own cultural identity.
"Behind every One Commune One Product (OCOP)-starred product lies a quietly operating support system: technical staff, experts, trade fairs, and e-commerce platforms. OCOP cannot go far without forward-looking policy support," affirmed Nguyen Huy Nhuan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province.
The economic landscape of Hoa Binh province continued its impressive upward trajectory through the first four months of 2025, according to a recent report from the provincial Department of Finance. The local authority has directed departments and sectors to keep close tabs on growth scenarios for each quarters and remove bottlenecks, striving to complete the set growth targets.
