(HBO) – The People’s Committee of Hoa Binh province has held a meeting with local enterprises and cooperatives on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2018.


The meeting was attended by Bui Van Tinh, Party Central Committee member and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; Tran Dang Ninh, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council; and Nguyen Van Quang, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.

Hoa Binh posted a GRDP growth of 9.46 percent and 3.024 trillion VND in total state budget revenue in 2017. The total social investment was estimated at about 11.84 trillion VND while the per capita income reached 40.5 million VND. The province earned 505 million USD from exports, while the Industrial Production Index (IPI) rose by 9.7 percent with the industrial production value amounting to more than 27.5 trillion VND.

The province has a total of 2,773 companies, 385 cooperatives and business households that created jobs for local residents and actively contributed to the province’s economic restructuring.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Tinh spoke highly of the important contributions of the business and investor community to Hoa Binh.

He urged the enterprises and cooperatives to restructure their management apparatus and investment portfolio as well as improve management capacity and cut costs. He also asked them to operate their businesses efficiently, from production to distribution; invest more in areas like hi-tech agriculture, tourism, trade and services; and take an active role in social welfare, poverty reduction and building new-style rural areas, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Tinh wished the business community would develop innovative ways of thinking and doing business to back the province’s implementation of its socio-economic development goals in the Year of the Dog.

At the meeting, the provincial People’s Committee honoured companies and cooperatives with excellent business results and great contributions to social welfare.

It also took the occasion to launch an emulation movement for the business community, namely "Stay united to together boost business and production for the fulfilment of socio-economic development goals in 2018.”
