In particular, the area of cereal has reached about 34.6 thousand hectares, including 16 thousand hectares of rice (exceeding 4.9% of the plan), 18.6 thousand hectares of maize (reaching 100% of the plan).
The farmers in Mo Khoac hamlet, Ha Bi commune (Kim Boi) have harvested the spring rice with the average productivity off nearly 60 quintals per hectare.
According to the evaluation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development: In this spring crop, the localities have focused on directing the production right from the beginning of the crop, so the seedlings have been ensured the seasonal frame and the progress of cultivating rice and growing crops are faster compared to the same period. Therefore, the harvest time is 7-10 days earlier. Thanks to the proper care of the technical process and limiting the adverse impacts of weather and pests, all kinds of crops have ensured the high productivity and good quality in general. Specifically, the average productivity of rice has reached 57.83 quintal a hectare with the output of 9.2 thousand tons, exceeding 9.1% of the plan. The corn productivity has reached about 44.5 quintal a hectare with the output of 8.3 thousand tons, exceeding 2% of the plan. Thus, the total output of cereal having seeds has reached about 17.5 thousand tons, exceeding 5.6% of the plan.
Along with cereal having seeds, other annual crops have also been harvested. A harvest is pleasing the farmers in the province. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in the districts and the city, the spring crops have been all with high productivity and good quality. In particular, the key crops such as peanuts, soybeans, zucchini, watermelon, sweet potatoes, vegetables and legumes and so on have a good crop with a high price, bringing high profits to many farmers. By this time, Luong Son, Lac Thuy, Ky Son, Kim Boi districts and Hoa Binh City are having the fastest harvest progress.
According to the seasonal calendar, the area of early summer rice (accounting for about 15-20% of the area) will be sowed from June 1 to 10, and the cultivation will be completed before June 25; The area of the main rice crop (about 80 - 85% of the area) will be sowed from June 10 to July 5, trying to joint transplant from July 10-20. According to the sector of Agriculture and Rural Development, the best planting season for summer-autumn crops is from mid-June to the end of July 2019.
