Ha Phong Cooperative plants organge on an area of about 200 hectares, applying VietGAP and plans to shift to grow organic oranges. The cooperative uses biological pesticides by HLC Hanoi JSC to prevent pests for orange trees during the development period while applying strict control on all stages, from cultivation, processing and distribution, to guarantee quality of orange products.

After beingharvested, oranges are placed into boxes with care to prevent them from being bruised. At the warehouse for primary processing, the fruits are classified on the basis of their colours, sizes and others before being labelled with origin stamps and transported to market.

With the determination to create higher value for Cao Phong orange, Ha Phong Cooperative has heavily invested in building factories and purchasing machines to produce products from orange like wine, marmalade, syrup, essential oil, fermented juice, soap and more.

So far, the cooperative has launched nine orange products which are expected to win favour by the market in the wake of oversupply of fresh orange. These new products are also hoped to help heighten the prestige of Cao Phong orange./.
