(HBO) - The agricultural production value of Hoa Binh province is estimated to surpass 2.2 trillion VND (93.5 million USD) in the first quarter of 2020, a year-on-year increase of 3.5 precent.
According to the provincial Department of Agricultural and
Rural Development, the total production value of the agricultural sector is
1.84 trillion VND, the forestry sector 304 billion VND, and the fisheries
sector 64 billion VND, up 3.3 percent, 4.5 percent and 6 percent, respectively.
Products reporting impressive growth rates
include fresh sugarcane with 6.3 percent, orange V2 4.3 percent, Canh orange
3.1 percent, poultry 10.1 percent, and wood and forest products 5.6 percent.
Currently, the whole province has 2.7 hectares
of ponds, small lakes and reservoirs; 4,600 fish cages; and 43 farms and
aquaculture cooperatives. The total output of fish is estimated at 2,626
tonnes, of which 375 tonnes are caught from the nature. The locality's breeding
facilities produced 6 million fingerlings of all kinds to serve local demand.
The local aquaculture facilities are actively taking measures to manage farming
environment and enrich ponds and lakes for the next farming season. Inspections
have been stepped up to protect the aquatic resources by minimising the
exploitation of aquatic products by explosives, electric shock and poisons./.
According to data from the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, the industrial production index for the first six months of 2025 is estimated to have increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. This marks the highest year-on-year growth rate for this period since 2020.
In the first six months of 2025, Hoa Binh province’s export turnover was estimated at 1.145 billion USD, marking an 18.11% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Import turnover was estimated at $ 804 million, a 17.15% increase, which helped the province maintain a positive trade balance.

The products such as Muong village’s pork sausage, salt-cured chicken, and salt-cured pork hocks have gradually carved out a place in the market and they are on the path to obtaining the OCOP certification.
In the past, the phrase "bumper harvest, rock-bottom prices" was a familiar refrain for Vietnamese farmers engaged in fragmented, small-scale agriculture. But today, a new spirit is emerging across rural areas of Hoa Binh province - one of collaboration, organisation, and collective economic models that provide a stable foundation for production.
Maintaining growing area codes and packing facility codes in accordance with regulations is a mandatory requirement for agricultural products to be eligible for export. Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province has intensified technical supervision of designated farming areas and packing facilities to safeguard the "green passport" that enables its products to access international markets.
