(HBO) - In an effort to develop the private sector sustainably, the provincial People’s Committee has supported local firms with scientific research, technological innovation, and branch out intellectual assets by issuing Decision No.01/2018/QD-UBND dated January 11, 2018. The decision has served as a basis to carry out support policies for companies in registering industrial property right for their products.

Hoa Binh High Technology Environment joint Stock Company has stable business and production activities thanks to the local authority’s facilitation for the firm in legal procedures.

Along with promoting brand protection registration for local staples such as Lac Son chicken, Lac Thuy chicken, Muong Dong orange and grape fruit, Yen Thuy grape fruit, Da Bac J02 rice, and Luong Son goat, the province has given consultation and instruction on trademark and intellectual property registration procedures to 100 businesses.

Competent agencies in the province has granted VietGAP certificates to ten aquaculture facilities, with yearly output of 1,800 tonnes, and 57 cultivating facilities with total areas of over 2,480 hectares. Meanwhile, an organic certificate was issued for one pig farming company, which can produce 350 tonnes of pork per year; and 7.3 million origin traceability stamps were granted to Cao Phong organge, Muong Dong organge, Tan Lac red grape fruit, Da river fish, pork and many tea products. Additionally, over 242,420 electric origin traceability stamps were issued for organic vegetable products of the organic cultivation group and organic farm produce cooperative in Luong Son district. 

The province has helped local businesses expand markets through trade promotion conferences, fairs, and tourism week. Ten Memoranda of Understanding were signed between local suppliers and distributors in Hanoi to promote product consumption.

In a bid to ensure confidence of both domestic and foreign investors in the locality, the provincial People’s Committee issued Plan No.83/KH/UBND dated December 7, 2018, and carried out the Prime Minister’s Directive No.03/CT-TTg dated July 25, 2018 on ensuring security and order for economic zones, industrial zones and foreign businesses.

Due attention has been paid to state management in security and order, administrative reforms, as well as improvement in business climate and local competitive capacity.

According to the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the number of businesses having effective business and production in 2020 is expected to double the figure in 2015, thanks to favourable business environment.

During 2015-2020, the province had 2,100 newly-established firms, which registered some 30 trillion VND (1.29 billion USD) for their operation. By the end of this year, the province has some 4,000 firms with total registered capital of around 45 trillion VND. 

Last year, the non-state and foreign-invested sectors contributed some 61.2 percent to the local Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), or over 31.2 trillion VND. They invested a combined 9.39 trillion VND in the locality, equal to 58.9 percent of the total local investment./.
