(HBO) - Given complicated developments of COVID-19 across the country, the Hoa Binh People's Committee has directed relevant sectors to strengthen the monitoring of supply and demand and commodity prices in order to keep market prices stable, especially the prices of essential goods, serving people's needs and preventing unreasonable price hikes.

Accordingly, commercial activities in the province have maintained stable development. Total retail sales of goods and services in August were estimated at 3,630 billion VND (nearly 159.5 million USD), pushing the figure for the January-August period to 28,975 billion VND, up 15.8 percent on-year and fulfilling 65.16 percent of the yearly plan.

Also in August, the local consumer price index was estimated to increase slightly by 0.05 percent compared to the previous month. Currently, the provincial People's Committee is directing departments, branches and localities to focus on implementing solutions to ensure the balance of market supply and demand, and stocking up on commodity to maintain stable goods prices in the remaining months of the year, especially given unpredictable developments of the pandemic./.
