(HBO) – Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong recently signed Decision No.1708/QD-BGTVT, approving a project to repair and upgrade a bypass of National Road No.6 in Hoa Binh city of the province of the same name.

A route linking National Road No.6 with Chi Lang road contributes to urban and services development in Hoa Binh city.

The starting point of the project is at Km73+500 of National Road No.6, which is linked with a project to connect Hoa Binh province’s traffic and irrigational works with national traffic infrastructure. Its ending point is at Km78+300 of National Road No.6, which intersects with An Duong Vuong road in Thai Binh ward of Hoa Binh city.

The project spans 4.8 km in length, excluding constructions in the previous Vietnam Road Asset Management Project (VRAMP). It will be built based on the level-3 delta road standard with four lanes, 20.5m in width and a designed speed of 80km per hour.

The project will run along with National Road No.6, ensuring technical requirements. It is to be carried out with an investment of more than 516 billion VND (22.67 million USD) sourced from the State budget in the mid-term public investment plan for the 2021-25, and projected to be completed by 2024.

The project managing board has been assigned to work with relevant agencies to submit the project for the Transport Ministry's approval. It must agree with the locality in terms of cost reduction and land clearance in line with the standard TCVN4054-2005.

The project will contribute to completing National Road No.6 in keeping with the planning and forming a ring road outside Hoa Binh city, thus promoting urban space development, connection between Hoa Binh province and Hanoi capital, and local socio-economic growth.
