(HBO) – As the COVID-19 situation has been gradually put under control in Luong Son district, factories at Luong Son Industrial Park (IP) are restoring production to fulfill unfinished orders, as well as to seize new opportunities in the remaining months of 2021.

Some 5,000 workers of Esquel Vietnam Co., Ltd. are busy at their factory job. Most of them have been given at least one jab of COVID-19 vaccine.
The company struggled during the time when the social distancing order was in place, said General Director Teh Thian San. The company has proposed local authorities provide all possible conditions for its workers and other working at the IP to easily move from their residence to the company. At the same time, the firm has also asked workers to strictly comply with COVID-19 preventive rules.

Nguyen Van Truong from the Management Board of Luong Son IP said bordering Hanoi, the district faces a high risk of COVID-19 outbreak. After COVID-19 cases were detected in the locality, the district’s People’s Committee and the IP Management Board have actively directed enterprises to develop COVID-19 response plans, and strictly enforce the "5K" principle. They have also required their employees to sign a commitment to fully observe COVID-19 rules and to take legal responsibility if spreading the virus.
The "three-on-site” and "one route, two destinations” schemes were adopted for all workers at the IP to minimise COVID-19 impacts on production. There have been no COVID-19 cases detected in the IP so far.
Nguyen Van Danh, Chairman of the Luong Son District People's Committee said Luong Son IP has been developed with modern infrastructure. Its occupancy rate reached 100 percent with more than 30 registered investment projects, including 13 FDI ones, he said, adding that enterprises at Luong Son IP alone contributed 70-80 percent of industrial production value (excluding that of Hoa Binh hydropower plant) and about 60 percent of the province’s export revenue annually. They also created jobs for over 15,000 workers.
