(HBO) – The provincial Union of Cooperatives recently held a seminar on promoting supply and demand as well as introducing products with the theme "Hoa Binh - Taste of Muong region and E-Commerce” at the National Village of Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi’s Son Tay district.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Dinh Cong Su and other delegates visit the cooperatives' booths.

Hoa Binh province has 461 cooperatives, 214 cooperative groups and four people's credit funds. Collective groups have attracted 15,200 members, 26,200 labourers and contributed 0.43 percent to the province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Three-quarters of cooperatives and 90 percent of collective groups in the province operate in the agricultural sector.

Collective groups have exploited the province’s advantages to create typical products with the flavour of the Muong land in Hoa Binh, contributing to preserving and promoting its cultural identity.

Currently, Hoa Binh has 12 products that were recognised as four-star "One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) products and 54 others credited with three stars. A survey by the provincial Cooperative Alliance revealed that 95 cooperatives have received food safety certificates and 61 cooperatives wished to cooperate with enterprises in the production and sales of products.

Addressing the seminar, Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee emphasisedthat Hoa Binh province has always paid attention to and created favourable conditions for the development of the collective economy.

The organisation of the seminar aims to promote Hoa Binh’s culture and people as well as key products to consumers in the capital city of Hanoi, he said.

Through the event, Hanoi businesses and Hoa Binh's collective economic organisations had a chance to discuss and seek partners for cooperation in developing the production and sales of OCOP products.

Hoa Binh province is committed to creating favourable conditions for businesses and investors who seek long-term business cooperation and investment opportunities in the province, Su said.

Cooperatives and cooperative groups will continue to improve the production process and carry out digital transformation in production and business. Special attention will be paid to promoting the application of high technology in agricultural production, creating clean and safe products for consumers.

At the seminar, economists, embassies' counselors and businesses exchanged views on issues relating to connecting supply and demand, digital transformation, and preserving cultural identity in the development of cooperatives' key products/.
