(HBO) - Together with farmers in the province, the farmer members of Lien Son commune (Luong Son) actively compete in producing, restructuring plants and livestock, strongly building a lot of new models of high economic efficiency. As a result, the living conditions of people are being improved; the capita income reached at 25 million dongs/ person/ year, the proportion of poor households reduces to 2% (data counted in June of 2017).
Lien Son commune currently has 1 cooperative, 2 cooperative groups, 200 farms and many economic models hosted by farmer members. Among them, the typical one is the cooperative of feeding dairy cows and providing agricultural services which was set up in September, 2017. It attracts 14 members with a total number of nearly 70, including 40 in the breeding period. Besides, in recognition of the economic efficiency from the model of planting citrus fruit, many members strongly renovated their gardening areas for pilot planting. There were only 6 ha of planting citrus fruit in the entire commune in 2015, but now, it has been expanded to over 40 ha with 35 participant members. Some other economic models of afforestation, husbandry, aquaculture, medicinal plants have initially brought positive signals. Especially, some service models like transportation, construction material trading have developed strongly and created jobs for 200 labors with the income of 5-7 million dongs/ person/ month. Since then, there have been many examples of excellent farmers in producing or trading with the income of hundreds of million dongs per year. Some examples are Mr. Nguyen Van Hoat (Sum village branch), Mr. Truong Dinh Quyen (Dat Do branch), and Mr. Tran Xuan Minh (Diem Tong branch).

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoat’s family in Sum village branch is a typically bright spot. In the period of 2010-2017, Mr. Hoat has been continuously awarded many honorable certificates from the district and province because of his excellent achievements in economic development. At present, his gardening area is expanded to 1,4 ha, including 340 Vinh orange trees, 70 Canh orange trees and 60 Hung Yen logan trees. In addition, Mr. Hoat is also a member of cooperative of feeding dairy cows with 6 dairy cows. With the diverse development of economic models, he earns about 300-400 million dongs every year.
In order to continuously improve the productivity and the product quality, farmer members in the commune are active to attend 5-6 training sessions on socio-technical transfer organized by the communal Farmer’s Associations in collaboration with the Community Learning Center. Moreover, to get the budget for economic model development, members are facilitated by the Farmers' Association to access preferential loans of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development and Social Credit with a total debt of over 18 billion VND. In addition, the branches mobilize officials and members to build funds with the amount of 20,000 VND per year to support and help members in special difficult circumstances to borrow capital for economic development. A typical Farmers' Association is Diem Tong branch which mobilized 23/9 members to contribute from 150,000 to 170,000 VND per year.
After more than four years of implementing a project launched by the Hoa Binh Party Committee’s Standing Board on developing agriculture and promoting product consumption linked with building new-style rural areas for the 2021-2025 period, the province’s industry and trade sector has made significant strides, greatly contributing to local socio-economic development.
Luong Son district has identified 2025 as the year for the accelerated breakthrough to successfully implement the socio-economic development plan for the 5-year period from 2021 to 2025. Taking advantage of the rising demand, Can Minh Son, a farmer from Coi hamlet, sold over 30 pigs at 69,000 VND/kg, each weighing more than 100 kg. After deducting expenses, his family earned a profit of over 50 million VND.
