(HBO) - On November 17th, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to promote trade and collaborate about consuming outstanding agricultural, forest and aquatic products of the province. Leaders of Ha Noi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development attended the conference.
The conference is a part of the trade promotion plans for agricultural, forest and aquatic products which are guaranteed and have outstanding quality from Hoa Binh province towards Ha Noi market. This is determined as a big market with the population of nearly 10 million people and high consumption demand. Meanwhile, the quantity and proportion of Hoa Binh products consumed in this market is quite limited. Up to now, there are only some products, such as purple sugar canes, oranges, hill chicken, local pigs, rock mountain goats, lake fish, but the consumption is quite low and found in small markets or supermarkets. They are not traded in the exchange or large supermarkets. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, it is estimated that over 80% of agricultural products are consumed in the local provincial market, as small traders buy directly from producers at negotiated prices, the contractual rates or pepper commitments of the products are very low, the legality is not high and easy to be broken.

Under current regulations, products in the One Commune – One Product (OCOP) programme that are rated three stars or higher must undergo re-evaluation every three months. However, in reality, some of these products fail to consistently meet the required standards, raising concerns about the sustainability of their OCOP certification. This underscores the urgent need for producers to enhance product quality and gradually develop their OCOP products into strong, marketable brands.
