(HBO) - According to a report of the provincial branch of Vietmam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP), the total outstanding loan for the poor household in the province has reached VND 875.5 billion by the end of January 2023.

The preferential loans have
helped the poor households in De hamlet, Bac Phong commune (Cao Phong) to invest
in livestock has gradually overcome the difficulties.
This is the program with the
largest credit scale among the credit programs that VBSP has been implementing.
In January 2023, there are 234 poor households allowing to get loans from this
credit program, and the loan turnover has reached over 11.5 billion VND. Up to
now, in the province there are over 20.4 thousand customers with the
outstanding loans.
According to the assessment of
the provincial branch of VBSP, the preferential loans from VBSP have helped the
poor households in the province invest in the economic development and improve
their quality of life in recent years. In 2022, there were over 6.2 thousand
turns of the poor households receiving the preferential loans. Along with other
credit programs, VBSP is lending to the poor households, which is an important
source of capital to achieve the goal of the sustainable poverty reduction,
ensuring the social security and building the new rural areas in the province.
Once a mountainous province facing many challenges, Hoa Binh has, after more than a decade of implementing the national target programme on new-style rural area development, emerged as a bright spot in Vietnam’s northern midland and mountainous region. In the first quarter of 2025, the province recorded positive results, paving the way for Hoa Binh to enter a phase of accelerated growth with a proactive and confident mindset.
