(HBO) – The Standing Board of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee on October 23 had a working session with a delegation from Japan-based Meiko Group on the construction of an electronic circuit plant at the Da River Left Bank Industrial Park in Hoa Binh City.

Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, and leaders from competent departments and branches have a working session with Meiko Group.

Meiko Group will rent a total 9.2 hectares of land and infrastructure of Da Hop JSC to build the 200-million-USD plant.

The group stands out as one of the world’s top corporations that produce and assemble printed circuit boards (PCB) and provide electronics manufacturing service (EMS), with five factories in Japan, two in China, and many representative offices and subsidiaries worldwide.

In Vietnam, it has landed some 500 million USD in the construction of three electronic circuit manufacturing and PCB factories, creating jobs for more than 7,000 workers and contributing around 30 million USD annually to the state budget.

A Meiko representative recommended the province support the group with investment procedures and adjustment of project planning and investment scale, while securing stable power supply and providing other necessary conditions so that the construction of the plant can begin in March 2024.

At the working session, Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, and members of the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee, committed to accompanying the group and creating the best conditions for it and many other firms to invest in the province.

He ordered relevant departments and branches to focus on helping the investor complete procedures to carry out the project in line with schedule.

The management board of the local industrial parks should join hands with departments and sectors to handle the planning issue; ensure stable power, clean water and rational sewage system for Meiko; and remove bottlenecks during the construction process in a timely fashion, striving to kickstart the plant construction in March 2024.

Long also asked Meiko to set up a working group which will work with local authorities to carry out the project.
