The application of high technology in agricultural development is proving to be a key approach to enhancing production efficiency and reducing challenges for the sector. Therefore, localities in Hoa Binh province continue to develop hi-tech agricultural models and smart farming practices to gradually establish concentrated production areas, creating large-scale and high-quality commercial products.

With a total land area of 8 hectares, V-ORGANIC organic
agricultural cooperative in Quyet Chien commune (Tan Lac) has invested in an
automatic sprinkler irrigation system to plant various organic vegetables
safely. All processes from soil preparation, planting, care, and harvesting are
closely supervised by technical staff. All members and labourers are trained in
safe production procedures and provided with complete personal protective
equipment.
Can Thi Thuy Trang, Chairwoman of the Board of the
cooperative, stated that by strictly adhering to safety requirements and
standards, the cooperative’s vegetables have high micronutrient content, and an
average yield of 60 tonnes per hectare. As a result, 100% of the products are
sold at stable prices through contracts with the cooperative in Hanoi.
To date, approximately 150 businesses, cooperatives,
cooperative groups, and households have applied high technology and been
certified with VietGAP, GlobalGAP, and organic standards for crops, livestock,
and aquaculture, covering a total area of about 2,300 hectares for crop
production, over 200,000 cubic metres for aquaculture, and 1,600 tonnes of meat
products annually. The province has around 120 livestock and poultry farms, and
four facilities applying new technologies in preservation and processing.
There are currently about 80 enterprises, cooperatives, and
agricultural, forestry, and fishery production and trading establishments
participating in the product traceability system, with 400 products having
traceability stamps and being promoted on the website hb.check.net.vn. The
number of units installing camera systems with internet connection, and setting
up websites to promote their products is increasing.
In addition, to reduce labour, increase productivity and
product quality, and reduce input material costs, localities have expanded the
application of water-saving irrigation technology, biotechnology in production
and tissue culture technology; and the use of biological plant protection
products in production.
After more than four years of implementing a project launched by the Hoa Binh Party Committee’s Standing Board on developing agriculture and promoting product consumption linked with building new-style rural areas for the 2021-2025 period, the province’s industry and trade sector has made significant strides, greatly contributing to local socio-economic development.
Luong Son district has identified 2025 as the year for the accelerated breakthrough to successfully implement the socio-economic development plan for the 5-year period from 2021 to 2025.
