With a total investment of nearly 10 trillion VND (407 million USD) and many important items, the project is considered the biggest of its kind in Hoa Binh province. "Therefore, we fully support the compensation and land clearance efforts,” he said.
The project’s highlight is 1.2-km Hoa Son Bridge with its main cable-stayed span stretching 550m, the longest in Vietnam, and its tower standing at 187m, the highest in the country. The expressway is expected to meet transportation needs by connecting key economic and political centres with northwestern provinces, as well as economic zones, national tourist areas, and industrial parks. Notably, it will lay the groundwork for the formation of the Hoa Binh - Son La - Dien Bien Expressway.
