On October 12th, in Hanoi, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province coordinated with the Centre for Agricultural Trade Promotion (the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), the People's Committee of 2 districts, Kim Boi and Yen Thuy and R.Y.B joint Stock Company to export the processed agricultural products from Hoa Binh province to the UK market.

The delegates were checking and tracing the origin of products before transporting them for export.

The representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Center for Agricultural Trade Promotion and R.Y.B joint Stock Company were transporting the products onto vehicles for export.

This is the province's first shipment of the processed agricultural products with a total volume of 2 tons and the total value of over 300 million VND to the UK market. The 2 processed agricultural products exported are the wild honey from Green Life Cooperative from Hop Tien commune, Kim Boi district and Yen Thuy salted shallot from Phu Lai Agricultural Cooperative in Phu Lai commune (Yen Thuy). Both products have been recognized as OCOP 3 - 4 stars at the provincial level. The wild honey products are packaged in glass jars with a weight of 380 grams a jar; the salted shallot products are packed in jars weighing 390 grams each and they are packaged to ensure the export standards. They are transported to the export markets by R.Y.B joint Stock Company. Before packaging and shipping, the analyzed samples of both products have met the food safety testing criteria according to the requirements of the EU and UK.

Within the framework of the program, the delegates have learned from experience and proposed the solutions to promote the province's agricultural exports at the Centre for the Agricultural Trade Promotion in Cau Giay district (Hanoi). Accordingly, in recent years, the province has exploited its potential and promoted the agricultural export activities, thereby it helps contributing to the promotion and consumption of the local agricultural products in domestic and foreign markets. In the first 9 months of this year, in the whole province, there have been 17 agricultural and forestry product export establishments, with a total export output of over 890,000 tons, reaching a value of over 228 billion VND.

In the coming time, the province will continue to implement the investment promotion programs, inviting businesses to invest in agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. They will focus on investing in infrastructure, preliminary processing, packaging and preservation of the agricultural products. It is necessary to research and forecast the foreign markets and provide timely information to producers and businesses, supporting the businesses and cooperatives to participate in domestic and foreign promotion programs. At the same time, efforts are being made to implement the solutions so that the province's agricultural products continue to "take off” more to the world market.
