Lac Son district Women's Union hosts a contest to promote awareness of the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention, and the 2024 Law on Child Protection. 

Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Information, and Tourism, emphasised that the family is the cornerstone of society, a vital space for shaping, nurturing, and educating personality, preserving cultural traditions, and responding to social challenges. Creating prosperous, progressive, and happy families is one of the essential goals in socio-economic development. The province has recently issued guidelines to implement the strategy for Vietnamese family development through 2030, alongside initiatives related to the 2022 Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and a family code of conduct to foster a supportive human development environment. 

Local agencies have been encouraged to pursue the strategy's goals and implement family-related programmes aligned with the "All People Unite to Build Cultural Life” movement. A strong focus has been placed on raising public awareness of the importance of family in today’s society. Each year, departments and agencies, along with the Family Affairs Steering Committees at provincial and grassroots levels, organise activities to commemorate International Day of Happiness (March 20), International Day of Families (May 15), Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), the National Month of Action for Domestic Violence Prevention, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls (November 25), and the National Action Month on Gender Equality. 

Thanks to these efforts, significant progress has been made in domestic violence prevention and control across the province. By 2023, Hoa Binh had 1,488 sustainable family clubs, 1,365 domestic violence prevention groups, and 827 trusted community support centres. Improved communication and legal education have led to a marked decrease in domestic violence cases, which dropped from 447 in 2013 to just 72 cases in 2023. 

The "Cultural Family” movement has also garnered widespread participation. Last year, 191,833 of the 217,326 households in the province achieved the cultural family designation. Numerous exemplary families were recognised, and the criteria for the "Cultural Family" title are continually refined according to standards set by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, as well as provincial regulations, helping to strengthen family values within the province. 

However, there are still challenges in enhancing family values across Hoa Binh. Coordination among departments, agencies, and localities has sometimes been inconsistent. Although more domestic violence prevention models have been introduced, their effectiveness is limited in some areas. The quality and impact of trusted community support centres and sustainable family clubs at the grassroots level remain low in certain places. 

In the coming time, Hoa Binh will focus on integrating family-oriented work into the plans and programmes of Party committees, government agencies, and localities, aligning family-related goals with broader socio-economic development objectives. Communication work will be enhanced to raise awareness of the family’s role among all sectors, families, and communities. The province also aims to preserve the cultural values of local ethnic groups, which are vital for protecting cultural identity, fostering national pride, and promoting cultural aspects such as cuisine, attire, and festivals of each ethnic group. 

The province will enhance the "All people unite to build cultural life” movement and cultural institutions at the grassroots level to create a healthy cultural environment that nurtures love, unity, and the building of prosperous, happy families and a vibrant community.
