Phan Thi Hong Van, Secretary of the district Youth Union, said that the district has over 25,000 young people aged 16-30. In 2024, with the theme "Year of Volunteer Youth", the movement created conditions for each union member and youth to promote their role, responsibility, and spirit of youth to participate in activities for the benefit of the community, contributing to the common development of the locality, with focus on disadvantageous and remote areas, especially communes that have not reached the new-style rural area finish line yet.

With the tireless activities of the youth, in 2024, the district carried out 250 youth projects and tasks. Local youths coordinated to present 3,270 gifts, worth more than 1.5 billion VND (59,000 USD); helped maintain traffic safety in front of 38 school gates; and organised 35 campaigns to ensure traffic safety and order. A total of 105 traffic law dissemination sessions were held, attracting the participation of 19,000 union members and young people. They also planted over 56,200 new trees, mainly along rural roads, and in production forests, and protective forests.

In addition, 860 gifts worth more than 675 million VND were presented to poor students who have made great strides in their studies.

Van said that volunteer activities for community life and social security in the past time have been the driving force for the youth of Lac Son district to be proactive and creative, and demonstrate their affection and responsibility.

In the coming time, youth union officials at all levels will continue to promote the role of young people in applying information technology and promoting digital transformation, and effectively organise volunteer activities to contribute to building a civilised and modern homeland.
