Le Van Tam Primary School’s programming club shines on national stage

From mastering the fundamentals of programming to achieving national recognition, the Programming Club of the Le Van Tam Primary School (STAR LVT28) in Hoa Binh city has made remarkable strides in the field of robotics.

The Programming Club of the Le Van Tam Primary School in Hoa Binh city has obtained considerable achievements at many robotics competitions.

The club’s journey began with their debut at the VEX IQ Robotics 2024 competition, where they ranked 35th out of 70 primary school teams.

STAR LVT28 went on to become the only primary school team from Hoa Binh province to compete at the expanded Open Tournament of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, securing a spot in the top 10 against older and more experienced competitors.

In their third outing, the team participated in the 2024 STEM Technology Festival hosted by the FPT School in Bac Ninh province in collaboration with the Bac Ninh Department of Education and Training. Competing against secondary school teams, STAR LVT28, under the guidance of teacher Ban Thi Thu Thuy and with support from the Ly Tu Trong Secondary School of Hoa Binh city, claimed the third place in the VEX IQ Robotics Alliance category.

Having spent their entire summer assembling, programming, and honing their robot control skills, STAR LVT28 earned the second place in the Skills and Alliance categories and received the Promising Team award at the Red River Delta regional competition.

In January 2025, the team won the championship in the VEX IQ Robotics Alliance category at the FPT School in Thanh Hoa province. Their impressive performance also earned them the Judges' Choice Award.

At the national finals of the VEX Robotics 2025 competition held at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology in February, STAR LVT28 competed against 27 primary and 55 secondary school teams.

They topped the Alliance qualifiers and placed fourth in the Skills round. They finished as runners-up in the Alliance finals and received the Thinking Award for creativity, technical skill, and exceptional teamwork.

Principal of the Le Van Tam Primary School Ha Ngoc Lan said the results gained at robotics competitions in recent years have proved the abilities of Hoa Binh's primary school students who are comparable to those living in big cities or enrolling in international schools and large educational institutions.

Hoa Binh enhances awareness of "Safe and happy school" Project

The Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province held a conference on March 18 to review the performance of the "Safe and Happy School" Project and set out tasks for 2025. The project, funded by the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families (TFCF), aims to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students.
