(HBO) – In 2017, there were 71 social disorder cases in Kim Boi district of Hoa Binh province, up 14 cases over 2016. The cases were increasingly complicated as the criminals become more wicked and cunning. To cope with the issue, the district police had rolled out many measures to bring peace for the community.

Last year, the police recorded two cases of rape, two cases of credit abuse to appropriate property, 33 cases of deliberately causing injuries, 12 cases of property theft and five gambling cases. Especially, there were eight cases of drug crimes, three cases more than 2016. In the year, the police found 12 people illegally stored and traded drugs in Bo towns and communes of Tu Son, Ha Bi and Sao Bay.

The district and communal police force coordinated in anti-crime measures, having arrested 84 people and encouraging 18 others to give themselves up in 18 criminal cases.

As part of efforts to implement Instruction 30 of the provincial Party Committee on strengthening the Party leadership over criminal prevention and fight as well as combating gambling, the district police brought to light 21 gambling cases with 79 gamblers and seized over 41 million VND and many exhibits.

Alongside, the police also strictly handled 1,015 traffic violation cases, detaining 483 vehicles, and collecting over 395 million VND of fine from 920 cases.

Particularly, the district police advised the Steering Committee 09 to issue communication plans to persuade people to hand over weapons and explosives. After five communications meetings gathering 250 people, authorities collected 80 guns, one grenade, while sending 150 guns to the provincial police for destroying.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Huy, head of the Kim Boi police department said that in the national security protection campaign, 11 models have been built and maintained, along with 57 community-based security control.

In 2017, the district introduced "Nam Kim Boi” a security model, aiming to enhance coordination among units, contributing to ensuring security, defence and prevent forest fire.

Many effective models, including self-control veteran groups and self-control families attracted the participation of many people and have been expanded.
