(HBO) - Being a commune in the extremely difficult area of Mai Chau upland District, but Na Meo has 337/351 households having study encouragement members. In 2017, 127 households were awarded the title "Family Study", 174 households participated in the movement "Raising saving pigs for study encouragement".


Na Meo has 4 hamlets, each hamlet has 1 study promotion branch, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and each school has 1 study encouragement board.

Mr. Ha Van Ngu, Chairman of the Commune Study Encouragement Association, said: "To the difficulties of the locality, we recognized the need to promote propaganda and advocacy for members and local people to understand correctly the importance, the meaning of study encouragement, talent encouragement, therefore, they will try to overcome difficulties, actively care together for study activities. The movements of study encouragement, talent encouragement are also being well responded by local people. Some typical movements are the movement "Raising the saving pigs for study encouragement", building the "Study Encouragement Fund", etc. Currently, in the whole commune, 23% of the population is members of Study Encouragement Association, 4/4 hamlets have launched and implemented excitedly the movement of "Raising the saving pigs for study encouragement", the building of "Study Encouragement Fund" has been very difficult, but at the first step, there has been an improvement with the "Study Encouragement Fund" at the commune level which has reached over 10 million dongs, those of the hamlets reached nearly 5 million dongs.

In the school year of 2017 - 2018, the Commune Study Encouragement Association awarded gifts and scholarships to 97 excellent pupils, good pupils, excellent teachers and teachers, students in difficult circumstances. Although these gifts and scholarships do not have great value in material, they timely become a source to encourage students and teachers to overcome their difficulties.

In addition, as a commune in extremely difficult areas, one of the issues that Na Meo commune has focused on is propaganda and advocacy so that there is no case of dropping out of school. In this regard, the Chairman of the Commune Study Encouragement Association shared: Due to the difficult economic conditions, the commune has many parents who work far away from home and send their children to relatives. Some of the villages are far away from the center of the commune, and many of them learning at the end of secondary schools have intention of staying at home to help their parents. With that fact, the Commune Study Encouragement Association closely cooperates with schools and the study encouragement branches timely to catch up with the arisen problems, the cases of students in difficult conditions or poor studying and at risk of dropping out of school. . Therefore, they organize each household to advocate for parents as well as children to understand and trying to go to school. Those cases which are too difficult will be offered to get tuition discounts, donations of learning equipment, etc. Thanks to these activities, for recent years, in the commune, there has been no case of dropping out of schools. The quality of key education has been improved step by step, and each year the commune has about 70 pupils who have achieved the title of good pupils at least.
