(HBO) - Since November 2016, there have been 12 farmer members of Bung village, Huong Nhuong commune (Lac Son) started to establish Huong Nhuong hill chicken Cooperative with the goal of starting a business on their homeland.

Since the establishment of the Cooperative
with the main profession of raising chicken hills, members of the Cooperative
and households have participated in many technical training courses on chicken
care organized by province and district. Initially, there were only 7
households raising about 7000 chickens, the household has the largest number of
3,000 - 4,000 chickens / batch, and small number of from 200 to 500 chickens /
batch. Other members raise buffalos; grow safe vegetables, citrus fruit. In
2017, the Cooperative was selected to participate in the project of linked
production and consumption of chickens in the value chain under the New Rural
Construction program. The project has supported 8,000 breed chickens to the
Cooperative, supported training of transferring science and technology to the
chicken raising households; supported to buy drugs, vaccines, bulbs, food
trays, water bottles and construction of slaughter and preservation areas of
chicken with the total supported fund of 300 million VND.
Since joining the Cooperative, the members
not only have had the opportunity to share experiences in breeding but also in
buying good breeds, food at low cost because they don’t need the intermediates
because there are units available to provide food for the Cooperative and
accept to receive the payment after the members sell their products. The
Cooperative raises mainly breed native chicken, Son Tay chickens. The chicken
are released on the hills, therefore, they are healthy, the meat is firm, good
smell, the price is higher, the consumption market is bigger than the other kinds of chickens.
The Cooperative has 16 members, who are the
households raising livestock and cultivating in the commune. Despite its new
establishment, but with effective development strategy, in 2017, the revenue of
the cooperative reached 2.9 billion VND and the profit of 600 million VND. At
present, the Cooperative maintains two main production lines: livestock
husbandry and cultivation.
Not only doing well in charge of the
co-operative director, as the head of the savings and loan group of the
village, Ms. Quach Thi Hoa has applied for getting preferential loans from
Social Policy Bank with 300 million VND for 9 members to invest in chicken
raising. Ms. Quach Thi Hai, a member of the Cooperative, shared: "In the
past, I raised about 200 chickens, but the price in the market was unstable.
But since I participated in the Cooperative, I would be no longer worried about
the market and prices. All the members always support and contribute the
capital and effort to help each other in production. When there appeared
difficulties, the members gathered together to discuss the solution. In 2017, I
was borrowed 50 million VND from the Social Policy Bank to buy 500 breed
chickens and nets to raise chickens with an area of 2.700 m2, got the profit of
23 million VND per one chicken batch sale.
The women's unions at all levels in Kim Boi district have been making significant contributions to the movement of building cultural life in the local community.
The movement helps improve rural look and the spiritual and material lives of local residents.
