At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Committee H’Yim Kdok said the remains were found in Mondulkiri province of Cambodia by Group K51 of the Dak Lak Military Command in the 2017-2018 dry season (from November 2017 to May 2018).

The identities of the soldiers and experts, including one woman, remained unknown, she added.

Participants of the event laid flower wreaths and expressed gratitude to the fallen combatants and experts, who sacrificed their lives to support the neighbouring country.

Since 2001, Group K51 has repatriated a total of 652 sets of remains of fallen Vietnamese soldiers in Cambodia.
